This Optical detector system is designed for installation in vintage relay-based BSR Roll-A-Ball Derby trailers used that routed 120v to physical switches (identified as Walk, Trot, and run) located under each lane's playfield. The mechanical switches frequently need adjustment because golf ball hits slowly but steadily deform the switch's wire trigger arms resulting in player complaints about unreliable or unfair scoring. In addition to the fiscal costs of maintenance time-outs, the person performing the maintenance risks shock from the 120v present at the switches and repeated removing/reinstalling the playfields leads to stripped rounded screw heads and stripped mounting holes.
Now there is a better way - install optics and end the maintenance interruptions. With the game operator's additional focus on selling combined with all lanes ready for players, more Derbys will be run with more players per derby and less wear & tear on the game.
Purchase includes 1 BSR Optical Master and 3 optical sensors.
Purchaser must provide proper length RJ-45 (CAT-5 or CAT-6 series) network cables for the installation. Installation instructions are posted in Google Documents (linked here and in my Documents page.
Note Roll-A-Ball Derby Optics do NOT replace the captured ball switch.
