What is it?A few years ago I purchased a Star Wars Episode 1 pinball with a buggy monitor.  Modern monitors don't support Pinball 2000's CGA video format so I created a plug-and-play solution to interface the legacy video format to VGA monitors.  I now offer two versions of my solution to address the multiple types computers used in the games - both solutions require my sync combiner and a GBS-8200 series video-up convert board.
  • For games with 26-pin internal ribbon video cables, I offer an adapter board that mounts directly to your Pinball 2000 computer's graphics card output to pre-process the original CGA video signal.
  • For games with 24-pin internal ribbon video cables, I offer a custom-designed PCI card that pre-processes the the original CGA video signal for up-convert to VGA.

Be sure to use the information below to check your game's computer before purchasing.

Check for 24-pin or 26-pinLook at the ribbon cable connection to the riser circuit board in the rear of the computer.  All ribbon cable connectors have two rows of pins.
  • The 24-pin connector has one pin removed to key the connector so you will see one row of 11 pins and one row of 12 pins.
  • The 26-pin connector is not keyed so you will see two rows with 13 pins per row.

Most games use computers with 24-pin ribbon cabled computers; only early production run games use the 26-pin ribbon cabled computers.  Unsure which to buy?  The 26-pin external combiner works with all games.

24-Pin games: 24-pin games can use my custom-designed PCI card to pre-processes the original CGA video signal for up-convert to VGA.
  • The PCI form factor card is easy to install in your Pinball 2000 computer using just a phillips screwdriver.
  • Integrated into my design is a single USB port to provide power for the GBS-8200 (or GBS-8220) up-converter.
  • The double-wide PRISM card may need moved over one slot to allow space for the HV combiner
